 Life
in the Queens Royal Hussars is not however all work and no play. We are
very proud of our sporting achievements. All imaginable sports are available
to members of the Regiment, but we are particularly proud of our football,
rugby and ski teams.
The
Regiment fields a strong football team that regularly features at the
top of the Royal Armoured Corps league. For such a small Regiment we regularly
beat teams from large Corps to win both Cross Country and Alpine ski competitions.
Reflecting
our strong Irish identity the Regiment also boasts a volunteer section
of pipes and drums. Though trained and crewed tank soldiers, the pipes
and drums spend much of their time performing in front of many diverse
audiences. They have preformed at the Royal Tournament and Queens Mother's
Birthday celebrations, as well as travelling to South Africa, France,
Italy and even Rio de Janeiro.
